Restauration of Samaritaine store

Installed at the heart of the permanent exhibition of Pavillon de l'Arsenal, this current newsflash, staged by the agency SANAA, allows to discover the project of renovation of Grands Magasins of the Samaritan: 80 000m ² completely remodeled to welcome a hotel, businesses, offices, social housing and equipment of early childhood.

 Opportunity to discover the reorganization of this building registered for the main part on the additional Inventory of Historic monuments, this exhibition clears on problems of the contemporary city: rehabilitation, coeducation, urban insertion and reconversion of uses.
Three models of study of atria and facade of Rivoli Road, and a big model realized for the exhibition and visible from June 24th, explain this symbolic project.
Comfortably installed on flower flesh drawn by Sanaa, the visitors are invited to understand challenges in this project since its general conception untill drawings and current details. Plans, cups, and new images of the project, as well as a video revealing the current state of the building which opens the doors of this site to the unique characteristics.
The exhibition also illustrates the singular approach of the Japanese agency SANAA - Kazuko Sejima, Rtue Nishizawa, - prizewinners of the Pizker Price in 2010 and who have just realized the Louvre Lens.
