The agency of architecture SANAA was established by the Japanese Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa in 1995. SANAA worked on numerous projects in Japan, in Europe and in the critically acclaimed United States for their esthetic and functional qualities. The proposal of the agency for the Samaritan was held in 2010 at the end of a consultation of architects because of the good insertion of its project in the landscape of the street of Rivoli. This year SANAA received the prizePRITZKER for its whole work.

Designer of the project of the whole Samaritan, department store of 80 000 m2 completely remodelled to welcome a hotel, businesses, offices, housing and equipment early childhood, the SANAA agency is invited to present its approach: in what did the requirement of coeducation dope, or did modify, their method of approach structures? How did they understand their Japanese culture the question of the rehabilitation of old buildings and that of the urban insertion of their contemporary movement? What modes to make do they develop with the client, the owner of the Samaritan, to lead this new and exemplary reconversion of building registered for the main part on the additional Inventory of Historic monuments? To discuss it will be present in the forum beside Kazuyo Sejima, Ryue Nishizawa and Yoshitaka Tanase ( Sanaa), Jean-Jacques Guiony, President of the Samaritan and Marie-Line Antonios, Chief Executive Officer.
